Fire & Cupping.
Ok, I know it sounds like a scary combination, especially for those of you who have yet to experience cupping therapy. I have already explained a lot about cupping here. Now I want to explain the procedure and some additional benefits of using fire. All it does is remove the oxygen out of the cup and create a vacuum that causes the cup to stick on your skin. If you googled fire cupping, you might see all kinds of different way to do it. Here is how I learned how to do it:
First, I slightly warm the rim of the cup. I test the cup prior to putting it on you to make sure that it is not too cold and not too warm.
Then I quickly put the fire inside the cup to remove the oxygen.
Next, I place the warmed cup on your back.
I remove the cups after a few minutes.
How I move them around and the time they are on solely depends on what I am treating. For back pain and detoxification, I will move them around and/or leave them stationary. To help ease labored breathing and pain with lung conditions, I place them in a rapid succession and remove them quickly.
Finally, please know this isn’t a treatment I just recently decided to learn on whim. I learned fire cupping in massage therapy school and I have taken 2 additional continuing education classes on it since then. I have spent a lot of time getting my routine in order so that you can feel safe and relaxed.
